Fayette County, GA – People of all ages are invited to celebrate reading. This year’s Summer Reading Program theme is “Color Our World”! We invite you to embark on a journey of art and creativity, celebrating the myriad ways in which art enriches our lives. We hope to inspire and engage readers of all ages through a diverse array of artistic expressions.

Mark your calendars for Monday, June 2 at 3 p.m., when the summer reading program kicks off with an exciting performance by comedy magician Arthur Atsma. This family-friendly event is the perfect way to jumpstart a season of colorful stories and creative play.

Every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 a.m., preschoolers and young children are invited to “Color Me Happy Storytime,” where they’ll enjoy bright tales, songs, crafts, and sensory fun in a cheerful, engaging environment.

Teens can join in on the excitement too! Gamers won’t want to miss Ten Nintendo Switch Nights on June 9 and 23 at 4:30 p.m., offering a chance to meet friends, compete, and unwind. Tech-savvy participants can also try their hand at creating with the 3D Printing Workshop on June 25 at 10:00 a.m. – a hands-on session for budding engineers and innovators.

Summer at the library isn’t just for kids! Adults can enjoy some well-deserved creative time in the DIY Crafting Club, which meets the third Wednesday of each month at 12 p.m. For readers and writers, there’s plenty of literary fun with in-person and virtual Book Clubs, plus the “Let’s Get Lit” writing meetup on the third Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. – a welcoming space for sharing stories and building community through words.
