Fayette County Public School launched the Student Summer Job Fair to highlight summer jobs opportunities for rising juniors and seniors, as well as full- or part-time positions for graduating seniors.

Hosted at the Center of Innovation, nearly 200 students attended the event where they could meet with 21 different potential employers. Employers came from a diverse area of interests, including restaurants, construction, insurance, marketing, realty, healthcare, education, and government.

Virginia Gibbs, Coordinator of Innovative Partnership Development for the school system, was pleased with the response from participants. Students were excited to learn about job opportunities, and employers were thrilled with the chance to meet promising talent, said Gibbs.

“Employers were very complimentary of the student interest and engagement during the event, and many shared that they walked away with some excellent candidates for their open positions.”
