FAYETTEVILLE, GA (May 8, 2025) — The Fayette Chamber of Commerce Non-Profit Council is continuing its 2025 “Lunch and Learn” series with a powerful and practical session titled “Messaging: Why You Might Be Doing Marketing All Wrong”.  As the second workshop in this year’s series, the event builds on the Council’s mission to strengthen the local nonprofit sector through skill-building, shared learning, and peer collaboration.

Led by Clothes Less Traveled Executive Director and nonprofit communications expert Kimber Huff-Wilk, this interactive workshop will take place May 15, 11:30am-1:30pm. The workshop is open to nonprofit professionals, board members, volunteers, and anyone responsible for communicating their organization’s impact.

With a career dedicated to helping mission-driven organizations find and share their voice, Huff-Wilk will break down the fundamentals of strong nonprofit messaging — from identifying your core value proposition to avoiding common communication missteps that weaken engagement. Participants will then have the insight to apply what they’ve learned to craft an impactful message.

“Good messaging isn’t just about sounding polished — it’s about creating clarity, connection, and action,” said Huff-Wilk. “This workshop is designed to help nonprofits communicate with confidence and authenticity.”

This high-value session offers tools and techniques often reserved for high-level strategy meetings — with an estimated consultant value of up to $5,000 for similar content delivered in a private workshop. Thanks to the Fayette Chamber’s commitment to supporting local nonprofits, the workshop is being offered as part of the Council’s Lunch and Learn programming at a significantly reduced cost to attendees.

“We launched the Lunch and Learn series to provide nonprofit leaders with access to expert guidance and a peer network that can elevate their impact,” said Chris Madrid, Non-Profit Council Chair “This second session on messaging addresses one of the most common — and most critical — challenges nonprofits face today.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring a notepad and review their latest messaging materials in advance.  The program will wrap up with a question-and-answer session.
