Volunteers from Atlanta Gas Light, Georgia Power, Delta, Home Depot and Elizabeth Baptist Church serve in honor of beloved longtime volunteer
Christian City, a 61-year-old nonprofit serving children, youth and seniors, recently hosted its fifth annual Terry Chapman Day of Service on Friday, Sept. 25, welcoming volunteers to its 500-acre campus for a morning of hands-on projects.
Volunteers from Atlanta Gas Light, Georgia Power, Delta Air Lines, Home Depot, Elizabeth Baptist Church and the wider community worked on landscaping and campus beautification, painting and staining, and assisting senior residents. They also kicked off the campus’s Christmas decorating. The annual event honors Terry Chapman, a prolific longtime volunteer who helped renovate 50 facilities on campus before his death in 2021.
“Every year, this day reminds us how much one faithful volunteer can multiply into a whole community of givers,” said Keith Horton, President & CEO of Christian City. “Terry showed up again and again for the people on this campus, and it’s an honor to see that spirit carried forward by our partners and friends.”
