Launch Fayette student entrepreneur Aadi Vaidya, a Junior at McIntosh High School, won ‘First Honors” and the ‘Best In Category” Award for the Biomedical Engineering Senior Division at the recent Georgia Science & Engineering Fair (GSEF). Middle and high school students from across Georgia presented their original research, competed for awards, and interacted with top-level professional scientists and engineers at the GSEF event held in April 3-5 at The Classic Center in downtown Athens, Georgia.

Vaidya presented his project TremorTech which aims to improve the quality of life for Parkinson’s patients through the use of wearable technology to reduce the debilitating effect of tremors with a commitment to affordability and innovation.  Next Aadi will be competing at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, the world’s largest international STEM research competition for high school students, on May 10-16, 2025 in Columbus, Ohio.

Aadi is a member of the first student cohort at Launch Fayette which immerses students into the innovation and startup culture. The program blends curriculum education, community engagement, and mentorship from local entrepreneurs within a dynamic setting to inspire the learning and launching of new ideas. Students apply to join Launch Fayette through the Fayette County Public Schools Work Based Learning (WBL) and Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs.
