Whitewater squads compete at state robotics competition

Whitewater High’s robotics teams competed with the best of the best at the Vex Georgia High School State Championship.

Whitewater’s two squads finished in the top 10 out of the 50 best teams in Georgia. Team 33344C ranked 5th and won the Create award, qualifying them to travel to Dallas, Texas in May to compete in the Vex High School Worlds Championship. They are Owen Gutierrez, Colby Shaffer, Tyler Klinger, and Schoch Weaver.

Team 33344A finished 10th. They are Ethan Hoellrich, Carpenter Ray, Justin, Lin, Jonathan Lin, and Mason Klinger.

“Both teams did an outstanding job this year representing Whitewater High and are a testament to what our students can accomplish,” said coach Joel Cassell.

The team of Owen Gutierrez, Colby Shaffer, Tyler Klinger, and Schoch Weaver qualified for the Vex High School Worlds Championship.
