Margaret “Brownie” Browning Swann Jones, age 95, passed away at her home in Peachtree City, GA on Sunday January 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Statesville, NC on November 3, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Maude Browning Swann and Elbert Vasser Swann. Brownie graduated from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC where she met her husband Ralph Norman Jones. She was an accomplished pianist, organist and piano teacher. She was the choir director and organist at First Presbyterian Church, Peachtree City for over 40 years, where she played for many civic events, weddings and funerals. She was an avid traveler, who enjoyed gardening and loved playing bridge with the ladies of the first official Bridge Club of PTC for over 50 years.

She married the love of her life, the late Ralph Norman Jones; they had 57 wonderful years together.  Moving to PTC in 1962, they were definitely pioneers and made many lifelong friends while enjoying church, dinner parties, bridge, tennis matches and camping. She was also a voracious reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.

Preceded in death were Iula Routh Jones, BC Jones, Sarah (John) Hambleton, Gracie (Tommy) Allred, Elizabeth Hambleton and Caroline Boyer Steed, Lucy Polan.

Those who are left to cherish Brownie’s memory are her sister Pat (Rahn) Boyer, children; Norman (Lisa) Jones, Kris Jones Milner and Karen (Don) Jones Tart, grandchildren; Larry (Asma) Milner, Jacob Jones, David (Rebecca) Jones, Matthew (Shenika) Milner, Hunter Jones, Jet Jones, great-grandchildren; John Milner, Brayden Jones, Victoria Milner, Lilly Jones, Michaela Jones, Bella Jones, Lucy Jones, Saber Milner, Selah Milner and Isaac Milner along with many nieces and nephews.

Brownie found love a second time with Julius Holt and they enjoyed over 7 years together. Music brought them together and God led her to join him in worship and studies at Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church.  Julius’ quick wit brought a lot of joy and laughter. Brownie was really close to her bonus family, children; Julie (Russ) deLuna and Jennifer (Sean) Waters, grandchildren; Taylor (Ken) Drew, Benjamin (Azriella) deLuna, Grant Waters, Clara Waters and Ella Waters.

Brownie was a woman who knew and loved God and made God known.  She especially adored being Gran-Gran to her Grandchildren and Great Grands! She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
