John Edward Trube, born August 25, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away on September 19, 2024, in Peachtree City, Georgia, at the age of 92. John served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 5/13/52 to _5/14/56 and lived a life as rich and varied as the skies he navigated as a Flight Engineer for Pan Am and United Airlines.
A man of many talents and interests, John could often be found in his woodworking shop building various additions to his homes over the years and in recent years, building furniture.
John was a car enthusiast since childhood. He owned the coolest cars around and after retiring, began collecting Ford 1930s model cars and belonged to the Early Ford V-8 Club of America. John also had his pilot’s license and would take his family on many trips along the east coast. Most of all, John cherished his time in the mountains and quality moments spent with his beloved family.
John’s first love, Dorothy Dunn, preceded him in death, along with his parents Wallace and Helen Trube, sister Mary Findlay, and brother Jimmy Trube.
He is survived by his second love, Nell Anders, who brought so much joy and love to his life.
His legacy continues with his daughter Jackie Trube, his son Eric (Pam) Trube, and grandchildren Kathryn (Trippe) Buis, Laura (Nolan) Alexander, and Julie Trube. John also leaves behind great-grandchildren William, Andrew, and Caroline Buis, and Autumn Alexander, who will undoubtedly carry forward his spirit of adventure and curiosity.
John’s departure from this world will be marked at a later date, where family and friends will gather to celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved.
