With sorrowful hearts, the family of Roy Cornelius McCullough of Jackson and Fayetteville, GA announce his earthly transition to the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ, on June 5, 2024.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, James (T.J.) McCullough and Bertie Stephens McCullough, brother, Jim McCullough and daughter Whitney Railey.

He is survived by his son, Ben McCullough and daughter, Ashley (Spencer) Sweat; grandchildren, Courtney Ellis, Chase McCullough, Cameron (Hailey) Railey, Summer McCullough, Maddox Railey, Sophie and Brendon Sweat and several great grandchildren. Sisters, Bettie Long, of Locust Grove, Virginia, Patricia Walston, of Fayetteville, GA, Dale Cowart, of Gainesville, GA, Sister-in-law Diane Nicholson, of Cumming, GA. Nephews, Gary Long, Drew Walston, Jeff and Adam McCullough; nieces, Rhonda Hall, Jennifer Hall, Betsy Herron, Nancy Fry and Carolee Frix.

As a former employee of Delta Airlines and a private contractor he was ever diligent in helping others. He assisted (many years) in his mother’s statuary and plant shop on Highway 36 E. in Jackson, Ga.

His gentle demeanor and love of everyone was expressed with this loving smile and ready helping hand. He loved telling funny stories.

He has now joined the loving arms of his savior and reunited with his family gone before.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home in Fayetteville at 12 P.M. Visitation will occur prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. There will be a graveside ceremony at Worthville Baptist Church in Jackson, GA at 3:30 P.M.
