The Whitewater High Counseling Department has been awarded the American College Application Campaign’s prestigious 2023 School of Excellence Award.

The esteemed recognition is bestowed upon just one school in the state annually. A record number of 9,253 high schools across the country hosted a college application event, and Whitewater was one of just 27 high schools to receive the award.

The Whitewater High counselors are Kelly Hubbard, Anslee Broome, Shannon Edmondson, and Jessica Maddox.

In announcing the honor, the counselors shared: “We are thrilled to be recognized as a school and counseling department that supports our student’s post secondary plans; especially encouraging and supporting first-generation and low-income students to recognize that they are college ready.”
