A new, paved multi-use path linking neighborhoods along Lester Road and Togwatee Parkway to shopping and healthcare destinations along Highway 54 West is now open in Fayetteville.
This new multi-use connects to the existing path paralleling Lester Road just east of Bennett’s Mill Middle School. It borders the school property, winding north and providing access to the Togwatee Village shopping center and to a new multi-use bridge spanning Highway 54, which will connect to the Piedmont Fayette Hospital campus.
The path temporarily ends at the ascent to the new bridge until the parking lot expansion adjacent to the hospital is complete.
A formal ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony is in the planning stages. In the meantime, residents and guests are welcome to use it now. Motorized vehicles — including electric golf carts — are not allowed on the new path.
