Gear Up for Sports and Camp Physicals

It’s that time of year again; Georgia has zipped through its one week of spring and is headed right into summer weather, long before the season actually begins. Lightning bugs are starting to show up at sundown, cicadas are gearing up to give us the symphony of their lives, and…the prep work for summer camps and the next season of sports for your children begins. Yes, it is once again time for physicals.

“Both summer camps and the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) require pre-participation physicals to confirm that your child is physically prepared for the activities ahead, and to identify those who may be at higher risk for injuries or other health conditions,” said Kallan Montgomery, M.D., a physician specializing in family medicine with Piedmont Physicians of Peachtree City Kedron Primary Care.

Of course, with the surplus of those looking to complete this prerequisite, finding the right time and place can be a challenge. Fortunately, Piedmont is available when and where you need us—with physicians and QuickCare locations throughout Georgia, which even offer same-day appointments for last-minute needs, ensuring a hassle-free experience regardless of timing.

Sports and camp physicals are also available at Piedmont Urgent Care locations, where you can simply bring any required medical forms and be seen as soon as needed, as walk-ins are welcome.

Don’t let the pre-participation physical requirement stress you out; Piedmont has you covered. Stop by one of our locations today to check this one off your list.
