Fayetteville, GA. – Town Square Playhouse is bringing the swinging musical revue Ain’t Misbehavin’ by Murray Horwitz and Richard Maltby Jr to Fayetteville! After a two-weekend run at Academy Theatre in Hapeville, this cast of five directed by Fracena Byrd is be bringing the Fats Waller Musical to Town Square Playhouse.
“I am so delighted to bring Ain’t Misbehavin’ to the stage!”, says director Fracena Byrd. “This show has long been one of my all-time favorite musical revues. Audiences will love the music that infused the Harlem Renaissance with life, joy, and soul.”
The inimitable Thomas “Fats” Waller rose to international fame during the Golden Age of the Cotton Club and jumpin’ new beat, swing music. Although not quite a biography, Ain’t Misbehavin’ evokes the delightful humor and infectious energy of this American original as a versatile cast sings and dances to the songs that he made famous in a career that ranged from uptown clubs to downtown Tin Pan Alley to Hollywood and concert stages in the U.S., Canada and Europe.
This performance brings back five of the performers from last summer’s Town Square Playhouse production of Little Shop of Horrors: Fracena Byrd is on stage as well as directing, joined by Tyree Trevon, George Jones III, Kima Whipple-Jackson, and Faith Emmanuel.
This show is rated PG-13 because of mild adult humor. Audience discretion is advised.
