Ruth Ann Dyals, age 75, of Fayetteville, Georgia passed away peacefully in the early morning of Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Hope Center Memory Care.

Ruth Ann was born on January 27, 1948 in Lithonia, Georgia to the late Charles (“Chuck”) Ray Bailey and the late Mildred (“Mickey”) Thompson Bailey.

She married her college sweetheart, the late Roger Dale Dyals, on August 20, 1966 in Lithonia, Georgia and resided in St. Marys, Georgia from 1973 to 2016.

Ruth Ann graduated from the University of Georgia in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree in education and from Jacksonville University in 1978 with a master’s degree in education. She later earned a specialist degree in education. She enjoyed a long career teaching math, serving as the head of the math department and later as an assistant principal at Camden County High School in Kingsland, Georgia. After retiring, Ruth Ann and Roger moved from their home in St. Marys, Georgia to Senoia, Georgia.

Ruth Ann was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother and generously cared for her family and anyone who came into her life. Ruth Ann enjoyed reading and studying the Bible, singing in the church choir, cooking with and for her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She had a positive impact on everyone she met and will be dearly missed by many.

Ruth Ann is survived by her daughter, Christa Edwards (Van) of Fayetteville, Georgia; son, Dale Dyals (Rusti) of Thomasville, Georgia; her sister, Donna Davis (Ronnie) of Social Circle, Georgia; her brother Ken Bailey (Faye) of St. Marys, Georgia; her great aunt, Anne Thompson Bailey of Blue Ridge, Georgia; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Ruth Ann was a loving grandmother to Jackson Edwards (Madison), Hunter Dyals, Davis Edwards, Cade Edwards and Ryan Dyals. She was also blessed to meet her first great grandchild, Shepherd Edwards, before the Lord called her to her eternal rest.

A private memorial service for family and friends will be planned at a later date.
