A special guest offered his expertise when State Court Judge Jason Thompson popped by Inman Elementary to visit with second graders as they discussed rules and laws.

As they focused on rules, laws, and government in social studies, the teachers invited Judge Thompson to talk to their students. He shared a presentation that included examples of characters who were not following rules and laws and their consequences. He also spoke with them about why it’s important to follow rules and laws as part of being a good citizen and answered questions from the kids.

Second grade teacher Tanisha Mobley hopes the students learned some life lessons from the visit.

“Our hope is that the students were able to take away why it’s important to follow rules at home and school and have a better understanding of his job and role in our government system.”
