Kindness is catching on at Sara Harp Minter Elementary. The Great Kindness Challenge has the school buzzing, and Rossie Bowlden’s kindergarten class has been particularly busy spreading smiles around campus.

The class made heart-shaped thank you notes for their favorite specials teachers and also created a poster for Principal Stacie Coppola that read, “Has anyone told you today how awesome you are?”

“I hope that students take away that just giving someone a compliment, saying hello, smiling, or writing a note of encouragement goes such a long way to help make someone feel special,” said Bowlden. “These are simple acts that we do daily with our students to encourage a genuine desire to show compassion, empathy, and kindness towards others.”
