Students at Fayette County High always get world-class instruction, but they could not pass up a chance to learn from a master. International jazz artist Wycliffe Gordon recently popped in to present a master class for FCHS students and offer his expertise to aspiring musicians.

Gordon is a renowned jazz trombonist, arranger, composer, band leader, and educator. He has performed with many music icons, including Paul Simon, Dizzy Gillespie, David Sanborn, Wynton Marsalis, Doc Severinsen, and Branford Marsalis. He even has his own line of Wycliffe Gordon Pro Signature Mouthpieces, which is equivalent to an athlete having a shoe named after them.

As part of the master class, Anthony Johnson (horn), Emily Sepulveda (clarinet), and Daniel Ramos (flute) performed for Gordon and the other students
