Kim Hershey, Personal TrainingManager with Fitness 54, shares about the importance behind staying active and moving and the health benefits you reap from doing so. From simple and easy walks to more strenuous exercise, get ideas on what you can do to reach 10,000 steps daily and how that number was set by experts. Trails & Treads – Wednesday, September 8 – 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Fayette Senior Services (FSS) – Peachtree City location at The Gathering Place, 203 McIntosh Trail: Peachtree City boasts nearly 100 miles of multi-use paths and Newnan is constructing the LINC, nearly five new miles of new paths. Paved paths for walking, running, biking, skating, and other non-motorized use are here to stay and grow! They offer a venue for solitude, recreation, socialization, connectivity, alternative transportation, and economic development. At the same time, dirt trails are popping up throughout Coweta-Fayette providing trails for mountain biking and more options for residents to enjoy. Kim Learnard, former Peachtree City Council member and Director of the Newnan LINC, will present the latest on paved paths, dirt trails, and where to enjoy them throughout our two-county region. Robin Glass with the Little White House shares the history of this historic landmark, home to President Franklin Roosevelt.
