FCHS band helps ring in bicentennial

On May 15, Fayette County commemorated its bicentennial with a parade, and the celebrated Fayette County High band was on hand to help kick off the festivities.

As the bicentennial parade set out from Fayette County High’s parking lot and wound around the downtown square, the band was set up on the courthouse lawn to entertain the throngs of paradegoers.

Fayette County itself was established in 1821, and Fayette County High, the oldest high school in the county, was founded in 1929.
