Photos from reader Nancy Giertych show the widespread damage to Coweta County neighborhoods and Newnan High School caused by the estimated 170-mph winds of what the National Weather Service is calling an EF4 tornado that struck in the early morning darkness of March 26.
One fatality due to a medical condition during the storm was reported. Newnan High School was extensively damaged and remains closed.
