Shirley Pauline Blackston of Fayetteville and Peachtree City, Georgia entered the Kingdom of Heaven on January 6, 2021.

She was born in Athens, attended Girls High School, and worked for Liller Neal Advertising Agency in Atlanta for many years. Shirley was a devoted wife, loving mother, an extremely proud grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a southern lady who carried herself with style, grace, and love.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Glenn H. Blackston, Jr.; her mother, Peggy Willey Barber; her father, Otho Milton Barber; and stepfather, Henry Franklin Barber.

She is survived by her son, Glen (DeDe) Blackston, III; her granddaughters, Lauren (Ryan) Higgins and Katie Adams; and her great -grandchildren, Ava, Julia, Ali, Will and Evan; her sisters, Marie (Maury) McDonnell and Donna Krilla; and many nieces and nephews.

A private family funeral service will be held at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, Georgia, with Reverend Fred Kolshorn officiating.

The family would like to express our sincerest gratitude and thank you to Home Instead Senior Care, South Atlanta, the second-floor nurses of Arbor Terrace assisted living in Peachtree City, Georgia, and the fourth-floor nurses and staff of The Terraces at Peachtree Hills in Atlanta.
