A Fayetteville man was arrested July 14 on charges of sexual exploitation of a child after images of child pornography were found on his phone.
David A. Burton, 31, was charged with sexual exploitation of a child, according to Fayette County Jail records.
Fayetteville Police Department spokesperson Ann Marie Burdett said officers on July 14 at approximately 7 a.m. assisted Homeland Security agents with a search warrant that was conducted at a Fayetteville residence.
The subject of the search warrant, David Burton, was part of a child pornography investigation, Burdett said.
The subsequent search of the Burton’s cellular device resulted in the discovery of images of child pornography, Burdett said.
Burton was taken into custody and is currently housed in the Fayette County Jail.
