Peachtree City man, 30, charged with child molestation

A Peachtree City man on June 28 was charged with child molestation and simple battery-family violence for actions occurring the prior day.

Ty M. Burnette, 30, was charged with child molestation and simple battery-family violence, according to Fayette County Jail records.

Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Donte Phillips said a complainant on June 27 arrived at the police department to make a report of child molestation.

Phillips said the woman provided officers with video and texts pertaining to the allegations.

The simple battery charge came as a result of Burnette demanding earlier in the day that he be given the electronic device, and subsequently dragging the complainant upstairs in an attempt to secure it.

A warrant was obtained and the arrest was made in the early morning hours on June 28.
