The final steps for Celebration Village, a 55 years and older community near Ga. Highway 34 and Fischer Road in east Coweta County, was approved May 19 by the Coweta County Commission.

The conditional use permit proposal was for a 3-story assisted living/memory care facility with 96 units totaling 136 beds, and two personal care homes totaling 20 beds.

The unanimous approval by commissioners came with a number of conditions, including having access to the property from both Fischer Road and Hwy. 34.

The county’s Board of zoning Appeals recommended approval by unanimous vote, as did commissioners on May 19.

Celebration Village will be situated on approximately 68 acres immediately north of the Sam’s Club warehouse store on the northwest corner of Hwy. 34 and Fischer Road.

With the previous development approval, Celebration Village has the potential for 60 independent living apartments, 108 concierge attached units, 46 cottages and 45 bungalows which will be subject to a development review, but will not have to go back to commissioners.
