The moratorium on Planned Community District (PCD) zoning requests was extended by staff request at the May 7 meeting of the Fayetteville City Council.

In making the request, Director of Community Development David Rast said it was the intention of staff to present the new Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) during April, but were unable to. PCD zoning is included in the upcoming UDO.

A UDO is important, including having the community participate in the process, because it impacts across zoning and development categories.

“While we have made significant progress on the document, we have been unable to hold Advisory Board meetings and public workshops due to the recent pandemic,” Rast said in requesting the moratorium.

Rast requested, and the council agreed by unanimous vote, to extend the PCD moratorium until Aug. 20.

Like Fayetteville, Peachtree City is also in process of developing its UDO.
