Current high school sophomores enrolled in the Fayette County Public School System can apply to study under the International Baccalaureate (IB) program that will start at Sandy Creek High School next school year (fall 2020). Sophomores attending any of the county’s high schools are eligible to apply.

The IB Diploma Program is for students aged 16-19. It is a two-year program that students start their junior year of high school (11th grade) at the end of which they can earn a high school diploma that is recognized by colleges and universities all over the world, many of them offering scholarships to IB graduates.

An informational session about the IB program will be held January 30 at the Fayette County Board of Education, Building A, located at 205 LaFayette Avenue, starting at 7 p.m.

Students who are interested in applying to the program need to complete and submit their application by February 28. To access the application, go to the IB page of the Sandy Creek High School website (https://www.fcboe.org/SCHS) and click on “application form.” Also on the page, there is additional information about the program and a link to frequently asked questions.
