GMC to hold 5th Annual Veterans Day Recognition Ceremony Friday, Nov. 8

Georgia Military College in Fayetteville is inviting local officials and the general public to attend a Friday ceremony recognizing veterans of the United States military services.

“On behalf of the staff, faculty, and students of the Georgia Military College Fayetteville, Fairburn, Stone Mountain, and Zebulon Campuses, you are cordially invited to attend our 5th Annual Veterans Day Recognition Ceremony at the Fayetteville Campus on Friday, November 8, 2019 beginning at 10 a.m. in the Truett’s Way parking area in front of our main entrance at 255 Veterans Parkway,” said Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Scott “Rock” Donahue, executive director of the Fayetteville, Fairburn, Zebulon and Stone Mountain campuses.

The keynote speaker will be Colonel Ben S. Malcom (U.S. Army, Ret.), a distinguished Korean War veteran of the United States Army and the author of “White Tigers: My Secret War in North Korea.”

Dr. George Dillard, senior pastor of Peachtree City Christian Church, will provide the invocation and benediction.

The Honor Guard will be provided by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

Ms. Jannica Kartchner (GMC-Fayetteville Student Ambassador) will sing the National Anthem.

A mobile Veterans memorial wall commemorating Georgia’s fallen heroes will be provided by Mr. Gary Jones.

Donahue will moderate the ceremony.
