Honoring first responders is something Brightmoor Hospice believes should be done. And there is no better time to do so than on Sept. 11.

Brightmoor Hospice will grill hamburgers and hotdogs for first responders at the Patriot Day Celebration on Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will be held at the American Legion Post 105 Log Cabin on Ga. Highway 85 South in Fayetteville, just south of the downtown square.

“We want to give back to the community, to first responders, and to have a presence in the community,” said Brightmoor Community Outreach Coordinator Dana Samples.

Music and door prizes will also be part of the celebration honoring the hometown heroes.

“We’re excited about it. We’re hoping for a huge turnout,” Samples said. “I can’t wait.”

Located in Griffin, Brightmoor Hospice has a 50-mile service area, which includes patients and services in Fayette County.

Additional sponsors are Kroger, Brent Scarbrough, North Georgia Concrete and the American Legion Post 105.

Brightmoor will also hold a similar event in Griffin, said Samples.
