Two public hearings held May 23 resulted in the Fayette County Commission approving the rezoning of two parcels along Harris Road near Redwine Road for 2-acre, single-family home lots.

One of the parcels totaled 8.75 acres while the other totaled 21.275 acres. The rezoning requires a minimum home size of 2,100 sq. ft.

The vote to approve the rezoning requests was 4-0, with Commissioner Eric Maxwell recusing himself because he lives in the area.

Commissioners were told the proposal was in-line with the county’s Future Land Use plan.
