Dennis Fouts

July 27, 2018 Dennis Jerome Fouts was released from the restrictions of his body to be with his Lord and Savior. In his later years he had struggled with the health problems of diabetes and cardiovascular disease with his usual good grace. He passed away peacefully in his sleep in his home Friday in Griffin, Ga.

Dennis was born on Dec. 21,1966 in Griffin, Ga. to the late Mary Lou Fouts Lovick and Charles Larry Fouts. He graduated from Southern Crescent Technical College in Griffin, Ga. with an associate degree in computer technology. He had worked as a manager for Griffin’s Taco Bell Restaurant and Spalding County Regional Hospital as a patient registrar.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Jennifer L. Morris Fouts, his brother Lee (Nina) Fouts, his sister, Tammy Fouts Wright (Chester), aunts, Brenda Jones (Jerome) and Wylene (Steve) Smith, niece, Jennifer Barfield, nephews, Chasen and Tyler Barfield, cousins, Misty Smith, John and Cheryl Jones, of Griffin, mother and father-in-law Thomas and Patti Morris of Fayetteville, stepfather David Lovick, brother-in-law Stephen Morris of Barnesville and many family, friends and co-workers.

Dennis had an outstanding talent working with computers and technology and often worked in his spare time repairing computers. His goal and dream was to build video games and rebuild the old iconic Pac Man. He loved computers, video games, movies, the ocean, furry babies and animals and fish. He and his wife, Jennifer always had a lot of aquariums and pets, especially cats, in their home.  Dennis was a very spiritual person and was often seen reading his Bible. He dearly loved his wife, family and friends and always tried to walk in Jesus’s path. Everyone will also fondly remember his sense of humor and his jolly chuckle. His friends and co-workers at Spalding Hospital remember his many kindnesses to them.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home in Fayetteville with Revs David Lovick and Jerome Jones officiating. The family received friends Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. On Aug. 1 at 3:30 following the service a reception was held in the Summerwood Club House on Carver Road in Griffin, where family and friends gathered for fellowship and to remember Dennis. This is the same clubhouse where he and his wife, Jennifer were married in 2012.  Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the charity of your choice.
