The Fayette County Public Library invites the public to meet Lee Haney, eight-time Mr. Olympia and former chair of the President’s Council on Fitness, Aug.11 at 11 a.m. Haney will give a brief talk and fitness demo, after which he will sell and sign copies of his latest book, “Fit at Any Age.” With more than 35 years of on-the-job experience in the fitness industry, Haney offers insights and wisdom gained through decades of creating exercise and nutritional programs for people at every ability level and in every age group.

“Fit at Any Age” explains what safe and effective exercise and nutrition should look and feel like for people age 45 and older, in a way that’s inviting and easy to understand. In the book, Haney provides motivation tips that focus on ways to help individuals remain committed to their fitness goals by showing them how to tap into their personal “Why” for taking care of their health. Haney also discusses how to deal with stress, offering ways to draw strength from the powers available within each of us. “Fit at Any Age” promises to be a valuable resource for those seeking ways to ensure that the latter half of their life journey will be just as exciting as the first half.

The program is free and open to the public. Proceeds from the books at the event will benefit the Friends of the Fayette County Public Library, the nonprofit group whose sponsorship makes this event possible, along with many other library programs and services throughout the year.

The Fayette County Public Library is located behind the Fayette County administrative complex in downtown Fayetteville, at the southwest corner of Highways 85 and 54.  For additional information, please contact the library at 770-461-8841.
