Norene Patricia Hutchins Ivie, 83, of Brooks, passed away on May 17, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was born on March 9, 1935 in Atlanta, Ga. to the late William Jackson and Thelma Lavanda Chastain Hutchins. Norene began her career at the CDC and then her family became her life. She raised three children, LaVanda, Denise and Michael, who love her dearly and then she went back into the work force at G. D. Adams Marine and finally Majors Medical Books as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Woolsey Baptist Church and loved her Sunday School class friends.
Norene was married to the love of her life, Walter Lonnie Ivie who preceded her in death in 2011. Family was the most important thing in her life! She is survived by her daughters, LaVanda and Gene Gibbs of Fayetteville and Denise and Jim Price of Fairburn; her son, Michael and Teena Ivie of Brooks; her sister, Diane and Bobby Tucker of Newnan; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces, friends and her precious cat, Sara.
A funeral service was held on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 12 noon in the Chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, Ga., with Rev. Chuck Chambers officiating. Burial followed the service at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. The family received friends on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
