The Fayette County Commission on March 22 filed no objection to an annexation and rezoning request on 59 acres wanting to become part of Tyrone.

Tyrone notified the commission of an application to annex 59.23 acres fronting Farr Road and Dogwood Trail. The request by the owner is to have the property rezoned R-20 (1-acre minimum lots) to accommodate 39 lots.

Commissioners did include three conditions with the unanimous vote not to object to the annexation.

Those included having access by way of Farr Road and no driveways on Dogwood Trail, Tyrone and the county should establish an intergovernmental agreement specifying that Tyrone is responsible for all maintenance on Farr Road and that a quit claim deed be issued to dedicate 40 feet of right-of-way if the property were developed in the unincorporated areas.

County planning staff recommended no objection to the request.
