Fayette jails 2 men for armed robbery

Two Atlanta men are in custody on armed robbery charges in connection with a Sept. 22 incident off Ga. Highway 279 in north Fayette County.

Jerell S. Palmer, 22, and Richard T. Presley, 20, both of Atlanta, were charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and false imprisonment, according to Sheriff Barry Babb.

Babb said the arrests stemmed from a Sept. 22 incident on Dix Lee On Drive when they approached a parked car containing four males.

Presley and Palmer robbed the men of their cell phones and wallets at gunpoint, Babb said.

Both men are in custody in the Fayette County Jail.
