Fayetteville police are searching for an armed robber who struck the Dollar General store on Weatherly Drive in east Fayetteville on Aug. 18. There were no injuries in the incident.
Fayetteville Police Department spokesman Mike Whitlow said a black male suspect wearing black pants, a black hoodie and a red or black bandana covering his face, walked into the Dollar General store off Ga. Highway 54 East at approximately 9:37 p.m.

The man pulled out a pistol and demanded money from the registers and safe, Whitlow said.
“The suspect was given the money and he ordered employees and customers to walk to the back of the store,” said Whitlow. “The suspect then fled the store on foot.”
Fayetteville Police Officers responded and conducted a search of the area without locating the suspect, Whitlow noted, adding that there were no injuries in the incident.
