Mr. Mukut Gupta at the age of 77 died after a brief illness at Union General Hospital at 8:22 a.m. on July 28, 2017.

He was born in Chittagong, India, November 17, 1939. He was a graduate of MSU Baroda Engineering College in 1962, with a degree in civil engineering.

In May 1970, he embarked on a journey to the United States, which brought him to Georgia. After obtaining his engineering license he spent the next 40 years working and living in Peachtree City, Ga. as a civil engineer, land developer and businessman. After retirement, he moved to Blairsville, Ga. to be closer to his family.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Bula Gupta (Basu); son Mayukh Gupta; daughter Piba (Gupta) Schoeffler and her husband Andre C. Schoeffler and five grandchildren: Ansley (Schoeffler) Ewton, Hayden Schoeffler, Elise Schoeffler, Julia Schoeffler, and Reid Schoeffler.

Funeral Services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home. The family received friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the service began. Cremation followed the service.
