Lela May Ramage of Fayetteville died on July 8, 2017, just one month shy of her 99th birthday.
Lela was born on August 9, 1918 in Laketon, Ind. into the home of Albert John (Pard) and Ople Odyssey Butler. Lela was a registered nurse. While attending City Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind. for her nursing degree, she met her future husband, Dr. Walter Francis Ramage. They were married on March 30, 1940. After World War II, they made their home in Beech Grove, Ind. and moved to Peachtree City, Ga. in 1992. After 56 wonderful years of marriage, Walter died in 1996.
Lela was preceded in death by her husband; her grandson, Aaron Ramage; her parents; and her five siblings, Jim, Joe, Helen, John and Jack.
Lela is survived by her two children, Christy (Jim) Livers of The Villages, Fla. and Randy (Marsha) Ramage of Fayetteville; her grandchildren, Denise (Glen) Anderson of Keswick, Canada, Zach (Mika) Livers of Buford, and Olivia (Randy) Cranford of Peachtree City; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Dr. J.W. Wallis officiating. Burial will follow the service at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. The family will receive friends from 12-3 p.m. prior to the service.
