David Yale Gresens, 76, of Peachtree City, Ga. died on July 08, 2017 at his home surrounded by family, following a 16-year battle with Multiple Myeloma cancer.

He was born in Perry, N.Y. on July 13, 1940 and was very active in high school basketball, football and track & field. David and Margie met in college and both are graduates from Brockport State University in 1962. He obtained his Master’s degree in the Science field. David and Margie lived in Clarence, N.Y. where Dave was an AP Science educator and enjoyed his time with the Backpacking Club at Amherst Central High School, N.Y. He was very well read and loved his many books, but it was with his family where he shared his love of gardening, running, skiing and sailing at Conesus Lake where decades of unforgettable memories were made, and flying (where he also obtained his pilot’s license).

They moved to Peachtree City, Ga. after retirement in 1995 and Holt, Mich. in 1999 to be closer to family and to be a full-time grandfather. Extensive traveling was another hobby enjoyed by both and they had great fun and wonderful memories visiting places such as: South America, Alaska, Hawaii, Belize, Australia, New Zealand and Chamonix, France.

David is preceded in death by his father, Delbert Gresens; mother, Ethelyn Gresens; and his sister, Ivy Chase.

He leaves the love of his life, wife of 57 years, Margie (Rowe) Gresens, where together they raised 5 children that included triplets; son, David Gresens, Jr. (wife, Arlene; and grandsons, Tyler and Nick) of Peachtree City, Ga.; daughter, Deborah Gresens Gallagher (husband, Bill and grandson, Billy) of Ashland, Ohio; son, Daniel (wife, Debra and grandchildren, Natasha and Kenneth) of Willow Springs, N.C.; son, Douglas (wife, Robbin) of Havelock, N.C.; and daughter, Diane Gresens Helmuth (husband, John and grandchildren, Neil (wife, Andrea), Niki and Natalie) of Holt, Mich.; three great-grandchildren Colton, Luke and Jake; many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Dave was a member of Evergreen Church. Services will be held at Evergreen Church on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tim Norton officiating. The family will visit from, 10 a.m.-11 a.m., at the church. Food and fellowship to follow services.

“Bubs” was always dependable and provided so much for his family; he was never short on love, devotion, wit, or humor when it came to his family and he will be sorely missed by all.
