Westpark in Peachtree City.

A conceptual site plan that would establish a 20,000 sq. ft. gymnastics center on Westpark Court off Ga. Highway 54 was approved on March 27 by the Peachtree City Planning Commission.

The undeveloped 2-acre lot is zoned limited-use commercial which permits the use of the property for IGMA Gymnastics.

The site is situated approximately 500 feet from Hwy. 54, with adjacent properties including a 3-story office building and a 2-story office building.

The property is near the intersection of Northlake Drive and Aberdeen Parkway, but will have no access to those roadways.

Commissioners were told that the property slopes to the rear so terracing will be done to maximize the use of the site.

The motion to approve the conceptual site plan was unanimous. The approval came with conditions pertaining to landscaping issues.

Also, elevations for a 99,000 sq. ft. industrial building at the corner of Huddleston Road and Paschall Road were approved on March 27 by the Planning Commission.

Located in the Paschall Business Park and situated on vacant property, the general industrial-zoned property will feature a 2-story brick structure and is planned to include two tenants.

The proposed building uses projecting parapets in the top plane to emphasize tenant spaces. The base plane includes brick masonry, windows, changes in materials and colors, and projecting overhangs to meet ordinance requirements, according to city staff.

The vote to approve the building elevations was unanimous.
