Lois J. Oldham, 99, of Peachtree City passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017.

She was born in Versailles, Ohio to the late Russell Folkerth and Blanch (Smith) Folkerth. She married Rodney Oldham in 1942 on the same day he graduated from Officer Candidate School. Lois was a military wife for more than twenty years, moving with Rodney to Ohio, Okinawa, Georgia, France, Missouri and Alaska. Upon Rodney’s retirement from the Army, they relocated to Lexington, Ky. where she lived for the next 46 years. After Rod’s death, Lois moved to Peachtree City to be close to her son, Jim Oldham. She quickly settled in to a neighborhood where she found new and caring friends and continued to live independently until her death.

Lois loved to read, knit, garden and play with her grandchildren and then her great-grandchildren. She was always ready to go out with friends and family, whether it be to lunch, dinner or perhaps a visit to the Botanical Gardens.

Lois is survived by her two sons, Ronald (Ruth) and Jim (Jody); her grandchildren, Doug, David, Niki and Brian; and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Natalie, Cody, Liam and Eli.

A celebration of her life service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City. Father Dan Hale will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Rodney at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, Ky., at a later date.
