Mrs. Hettie Mae Dean Ratliff (MiMi) has entered her eternal home in heaven peacefully at home in Union City, Ga. surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 1, 2017.

A native of Fulton County and a faithful member of Fairburn First Baptist Church for over 60 years where she enjoyed her Sunday School Class. Hettie was an avid book reader and an avid bridge player. She played for years at Newnan Country Club and the Gathering Place in Peachtree City. Playing cards was her passion.

She and her husband also ran and owned a nursery and kindergarten in Fairburn on Greene Street that was called, Playmates Paradise for 17 years. She has a special love for teaching young children. Hettie also was an executive secretary to the Georgia Cosmetology Association where she made many life time friends.

She spent her remaining years being “Mimi” to seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, whom she loves so dearly.

Hettie was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Glenn Ratliff Sr., her sons Edward Glenn Ratliff Jr. and Richard W. Ratliff.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Farr and her husband, Dennis of Newnan, daughter in-laws, Judy Ratliff of Peachtree City, Kathleen Ratliff of Newnan; brother, Jimmy Dean of Memphis, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Chaplain Ken Rose officiating.
