Dymond Moore of Whitewater High has been awarded the largest DECA Foundation Scholarship offered by the Georgia DECA Foundation.
Dymond received the $2,500 scholarship at the DECA State Career and Development Conference held in Atlanta in February. She is one of three students in the state who received a DECA Foundation Scholarship.
Nominees were required to write a cover letter introducing themselves, and explaining their specific education objective, and actions taken or planned to accomplish their objective. In addition, they also had to submit a resume that included DECA activities and other school and community activities, along with three letters of reference.
Application finalists participated in an interview session at the state conference to determine the scholarship winners.
DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
