Donald Wilcox Sharp, 89, of Fayetteville passed away at his home on December 14, 2016.  

He was born on December 19, 1926 in East Providence, R.I. to William and Bertha Sharp. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.  He was a retired teacher in Fayette County and last taught at Fayette Montessori School.  

Mr. Sharp was preceded in death by his wife, Donajean Sharp; his son, Donald W. Sharp, Jr.; his parents; his brothers, William, Robert, Edward, John, Richard, and Alfred “James” and his sisters, Mary Sharp and Dorothy Sharp Fuller.

He is survived by his son, Dana C. Sharp (Susan); his daughter, Dianne Stagner; his daughter-in-law, Diana Goldfarb; his grandchildren, Donya M. Stagner, Ryan D. Stagner, David Sharp Goldfarb and Eli Sharp Goldfarb; and his sisters, Ruth Hanson, Elizabeth Pierce and Lois Noyes.  

The funeral service for Mr. Sharp was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Fayetteville, Ga., with Pastor Justin Kollmeyer officiating.  The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday evening, December 18, 2016 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
