Sara Louise McManus of Fayetteville, Ga., moved into her Father’s House for eternity on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at the age of 93.

She was born on March 4, 1923, to the late John T. Cook and Eunice Hogan Cook. Louise graduated from Draughon School of Commerce in 1941 and will be remembered for her innate ability to rise above any situation that challenged her. Her family and friends all agree that she was the most gifted cook, encouraging us all to “cook from scratch” and to enjoy the journey, as well as the ultimate feast. Louise loved to study her Bible and shared her wisdom with everyone she met, as well as the Sunday School class she taught for over 40 years. Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Major Claude W. McManus.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James W. & Ruth McManus, of Amelia Island, Fla., and her daughter and son-in-law, Linda & Michael Parry, of Woodstock, Ga. She cherished her four grandchildren, Angela M. York, Meagan J. McManus, and Matthew & Meredith Parry; her three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Priscilla, and Peyton York; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service was held Sunday, November 20, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City, with Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Young Life of Albany, PO Box 70053, Albany, Ga. 31708. Carl J Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville www.mowellfuneralhome.com.
