Cecilia J. Jarrell, 84, of Riverdale, passed away at 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Southwest Christian Hospice in Union City.
Born in Dallas, Ga. on October 2, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Ruby Jones Cooper. Cecilia was raised by her late grandparents, Josphine and Emanuel Jones.
As the beloved wife of the late Bobby Ray Jarrell, Sr., Cecilia and Bob raised one son, Bobby Ray Jarrell Jr. and one daughter, Lori Renee’ Jarrell in Riverdale, Ga. Before her retirement with the State of Georgia, she had a successful career issuing licenses for the State’s Cosmetology Board. Cecilia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, always putting others before herself. She had the most generous and loving heart. Her family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was her life. Cecilia especially enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, her swimming pool, music, dancing, jewelry and the summer trips to Panama City Beach.
She is predeceased by her parents, grandparents, her brother David Ramey, her brother Junior Ramey, and her late husband Bobby Ray Jarrell, Sr.
Survivors include her son, Bobby Ray Jarrell, Jr. of Fayetteville, Ga., her daughter Lori Jarrell Strange of Colorado Springs, Colo., her grandson, Bryce Strange of Colorado Springs, Colo., her brother Richard Ramey and his wife Janice Ramey of Fayetteville, Ga.
The memorial service was held Friday, November 4 at 11 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, 551 New Hope Road, Fayetteville, Ga. 30214 (in the White Chapel).
