Eligible blood donors are urged to schedule a donation today in conjunction with the blood drive scheduled for Monday, Nov. 7, 1-6 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Senoia United Methodist Church. Walk-ins are also welcome. The blood drive is co-sponsored by the local church and the Senoia Optimist Club.
In conjunction with the Nov. 8 elections, the church’s sanctuary will be open for prayer 1-6 p.m. Monday (during the blood drive) and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday.
The church is in the historic district of Senoia and is located at 229 Bridge Street. It is at the intersection of Seavy and Bridge Streets. For those not familiar with the area, you can turn east at the downtown intersection of Main Street and Seavy Street, and go past the Veranda Bed & Breakfast towards the City Park or State Highway 85. The church is on the right, only about 2 blocks east of Main Street.
Members of the Senoia Optimist Club will offer blood donors their “famous” grilled cheese sandwiches along with a number of free coupons from local area businesses.
Donors at the Senoia blood drive are again asked to bring one or more non-perishable food items. The Optimist Club members will collect these items and make them available to a local food bank in order to help those around us who are in need.
While walk-ins are welcome, potential donors may either sign up at
www.redcrossblood.org/ or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). In addition, Senoia Optimist Club member and blood drive coordinator Ellen Ingram may be contacted at 770-842-4533.
In the photo above, first-time blood donor Jessica Gerakaris was one of the many donors who came to the previous drive.
