Mr. Phillip Mark Ackerman of Peachtree City, Ga. passed away on October 14, 2016.  

He was born in Delhi, N.Y. on February 16, 1957 to Phillip and Audrey Ackerman. He grew up on a dairy farm in upstate New York. Phil attended Cornell University and served his country for six years in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration with 35 years of service. He attended Community Bible Church in Peachtree City.  

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Smith, his step children; Glenn (Yvette) Smith, Wendy (Scott) Ashmore, and Chris Looney; his mother, Audrey Ackerman; his sister, Elsie (Roger) Gangi and his brother, Paul (Kathleen) Ackerman.

He is preceded in death by his father and two sisters.  

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Mowell Funeral Home in Fayetteville, with Reverend Brooks Everett officiating.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.
