Renewing your driver’s license in Fayette County? The old location off McDonough Road is closing and the new location in Fayetteville is opening on Oct. 15.
Department of Driver Services (DDS) located at 278 McElroy Road in Fayetteville will be closed on Saturday, Oct 15, 2016 and will re-open at our new location on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 749 West Lanier Avenue, Suite 102.
DDS said the new Fayetteville office will be open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturdays and closed on Sundays and Mondays.
The new center is approximately four miles from the current location and will have many improvements including:
• a spacious and modern design with plenty of room for customers to navigate the process efficiently
• an increase in computer testing stations
• incorporates technology such as utilizing kiosks for self-serve lobby management
• incorporates DDS computer-based application/paperwork process to replace the typical paper and clipboard system
Customers are urged to visit www.dds.ga.gov and Skip A Step! by completing the necessary forms and paperwork before arriving at the new location – this will help speed up your visit.
