Promise Place, the nonprofit organization that provides services to victims of domestic violence and their children, will host its 12th annual Run to End Domestic Violence Friday, Oct. 7. at 6 p.m. at Picnic Park behind the Peachtree City Library. The family-friendly event will include a 5K run or 1-mile walk around Lake Peachtree.
Complimentary food and drinks, T-shirts and goodie bags will be available for runners and walkers. Runners will also receive medals at the end of the event.
National statistics show that 1 out of every 3 women will be affected by domestic violence in her lifetime.
