Lt Col. Warren Charles Boyes, Jr., 63, passed away on September 14, 2016.
Born to Warren Charles and Margaret Louise Frantz Boyes on March 31, 1953 in Kingston, Pa., Warren was the oldest of three sons. A lifelong lover of aviation, Warren graduated from Lehigh University in the ROTC program and was commissioned as an officer in the US Air Force.
Warren “Boomer” served for 23 years as a fighter pilot flying F-16s, A-10s, OV-10s and F-4s. After he retired from the Air Force, Warren joined Delta Airlines where he flew domestic and international flights for 20 years. A lifelong learner, Warren received two graduate degrees including his law degree.
Warren had an insatiable zest for life and adventure and was a self-proclaimed expert in all things. He instilled in his family a love of travel and the importance of making family memories. He was brilliant, loyal, hardworking, happy and always whistling.
A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he is survived and missed dearly by the love of his life, his wife of 41 years Jessie Sinift Boyes, their three children Jessica Christi Boyes Tillery (Adam), Warren Charles “Chip” Boyes, III and Kaili Tiana Boyes, two grandsons Adam “AJ” Kenneth Tillery, Jr. and Noah Warren Tillery and brother Jeff Boyes.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 30 at 2 p.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery, 5580 Knox Bridge Highway, Canton, Ga., 30114. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
